This was a team the critics said would end the season in last place. It didn't happen, the Avs went on to be the 8th place team in the Western Conference and have a chance at the Stanley Cup. The critics then said the young team from Colorado would get swept by the "powerhouse" Sharks in the first round. Again, didn't happen. The Avs have had to transition their game to nearly 100% defense to shut down the Sharks top two lines and they've been doing a good job of it. Unfortunately tonight in the Shark Tank, they were never once called for too many men on the ice. We've seen upsets from both Conferences and we've seen teams come back to tie the series. Last night we saw the Colorado Avalanche fall in overtime to the San Jose Sharks to tie the series at one apiece. I pretty much guaranteed that the Calgary Flames would lose to the Washington Capitals. I'm also pretty sure that most everyone thought that would happen. Seems that Kevin Porter played well enough to stay for the time being.
