The Colorado Avalanche beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5 – 1 tonight, effectively ending a 3 game losing streak and completing a season series sweep against Columbus. In a game that started off on the wrong foot, the Avs had an enormous showing from their rookies.

The Anaheim Ducks managed to steal the life right out of the Colorado Avalanche, notching 4 goals in the third period to mount an unbelievable comeback against a mostly hot Avs team. Craig Anderson played his heart out, it’s too bad the rest of the didn’t couldn’t do the same.

The Colorado Avalanche will take on the Anaheim (Mighty-not lately) Ducks tonight at the Pepsi Center in game two of a back-to-back trip. Hot off a decent win against the up and coming Minnesota Wild, the Avalanche look to extend their first place lead over the Calgary Flames to six points before the holiday break.

The Colorado Avalanche announced yesterday that both John Michael Liles (shoulder) and T.J. Galiardi (ankle) will be hitting the road with the team. While neither will be on hand tonight, there is the possibility of a return for one or both of them during this three game stint.

Colorado’s very own Burgundy Boys came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout. Fresh off of a lost to Phoenix Thursday night, the Blackhawks came out ready to turn things around on the road.

Peter Budaj led the Colorado Avalanche past the suprisingly hot Phoenix Coyotes, 4-1 last night at the Pepsi Center. Facing 29 shots and stopping 28, Boods managed an excellent effort against a team that is blowing as many minds with their season start as the Avs are.
