Games 27 and 28 of the 2010 Winter Olympics wrapped up the majority of the tournament, determining who would go to the medal matches to keep fighting for their country’s pride and honor. The day went pretty much as expected, though the play was a bit surprising.

Team USA defeats Switzerland

In a closely paired, back and forth bout between the young and unappreciated Team USA and the typically tough to knock out Switzerland, the Red, White and Blue came out victorious, moving on to the Semifinal round against the winner of Finland vs. the Czech Republic.

Swiss Beat Belarus, Face USA in Quarterfinals

In what was one close matched, hard fought showdown between 8th seed Switzerland and 9th seed Belarus, the Swiss came out on top. They move on to the 2010 Winter Olympics quarterfinals to challenge Team USA and Colorado Avalanche forward Paul Stastny in game 1.

Olympic Rosters – Part 1 *Updated*

The International Ice Hockey Federation has half of this year’s Olympic Hockey team rosters available to peruse online today, with another five being announced tomorrow. The Team USA roster won’t be released until January 1st, during the Winter Classic game. Things aren’t looking good for team USA at this point but hey, we had the Miracle on Ice remember?
