It’s here and it’s already making me long for the far off time of October. That’s right, the Colorado Avalanche now know all of their opponents and games for the 2010-11 NHL season.

Coverage of our Olympic Men’s Hockey continues with a recap of day 4. Coming off of a wonderful day 3, there wasn’t a whole lot of surprises on day 4.

Better late than never I always say, so here it is: Day two of our Men’s Olympic Hockey Coverage. This was another exciting day of seeing who is bringing what to the tournament as well as basically ranking teams based on their performance (likely erroneous judgements at best).

The International Ice Hockey Federation has half of this year’s Olympic Hockey team rosters available to peruse online today, with another five being announced tomorrow. The Team USA roster won’t be released until January 1st, during the Winter Classic game. Things aren’t looking good for team USA at this point but hey, we had the Miracle on Ice remember?

The Colorado Avalanche dropped their final game of 2009 to the Detroit Red Wings, 4-2. Serving up Detroit’s first win on a silver platter, the Avalanche had their typical third period of terrible plays, lazy skating, and blown chances.

I’ve been saying that the Avalanche have a lot of things they need to do. Mainly, as fans, we need consistency out of this team. They’re a good team, but they don’t play consistently well. Even though they won 4-3 over the Ottawa Senators tonight, they blew a 4-1 lead in the third period. But, as they say, a win is a win.
