Ryan O’Reilly Out Vs. Blues

According to Colorado Avalanche Coach Joe Sacco’s pregame, Ryan O’Reilly will not play tonight against the St. Louis Blues. O’Reilly is suffering from a bruised foot, which was injured Saturday night against the Edmonton Oilers. Good news here is that testing came back negative on breaks and further damage, so hopefully he’ll be back soon.
Craig Anderson, Avs Shutout Oilers… Again

The Colorado Avalanche and their outstanding goaltender Craig Anderson shut out the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 Saturday night, making that two in a row against the bottom fed Edmonton team. In what should have been a blowout, much like the last time the two met, the Avs managed to grab a crucial two points to keep them ahead of the teams chasing them and merely four points behind the Vancouver Canucks.

The Colorado Avalanche beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5 – 1 tonight, effectively ending a 3 game losing streak and completing a season series sweep against Columbus. In a game that started off on the wrong foot, the Avs had an enormous showing from their rookies.

Colorado Avalanche D-man John-Michael Liles has lost the rochambeau in the battle of the seven defensemen, and will find himself riding the pine tonight against the Ottawa Senators. Liles is benched so the young road-runner, Kyle Cumiskey, can make his heralded return to the line up after sitting out with an ankle injury.
