Peace was not a word uttered in the Pepsi Center tonight, however, as the Avalanche went up against the Edmonton Oilers in a Northwest Division Collision. When the final buzzer sounded, the Avs looked down at their foes with a 6-0 win.

Terry Frei from the Denver Post corroborates, saying he has a chest contusion and is “day to day” according to Joe Sacco. Just when the the guy has a chance to potentially have major minutes, he’s off the ice again.

I want to take the time to apologize to the New York Islanders franchise for discrediting their talent this season. Often struggling over the years, even trading away Bill Guerin last season so he could win a cup, I constantly chalked the losing streak up to lack of talented players and a goal tender lineup that was far from desirable. While you’ve had your fair share of losing in the past, New York, you have proven me wrong recently.
