Olympic Recap – Semifinals

Games 27 and 28 of the 2010 Winter Olympics wrapped up the majority of the tournament, determining who would go to the medal matches to keep fighting for their country’s pride and honor. The day went pretty much as expected, though the play was a bit surprising.

Avalanche Sweep Blue Jackets

The Colorado Avalanche beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5 – 1 tonight, effectively ending a 3 game losing streak and completing a season series sweep against Columbus. In a game that started off on the wrong foot, the Avs had an enormous showing from their rookies.

Not according to Colorado Avalanche rookie sensation Matt Duchene, who had one hell of a move trying to tie the game up. According to him it was slow and seemingly frustrating to play. It is no wonder that Marian Gaborik went to New York and is now pooping goals under the new system.

The 6 game winning streak by the Colorado Avalanche has been broken by the Minnesota Wild. This game was the 6th and final meeting between the two teams for the 2009-2010 season. The Avalanche rallied once to beat these division rivals, when in all honesty you can say that every single team in the Northwest Division are rivals. All you have to do is watch the games. Every Northwest Division team plays the other like everything is on the line.
