Throughout the Avalanche 2009-2010 season, we’ve seen a lot of highlights. Having been predicted to finish last in the Western Conference and in the basement of the overall NHL standings, the Avs have surprised everyone this season. They currently sit 2nd in the Northwest Division, 6th in the Western Conference, and 8th in the NHL. No one, not even die hard Avalanche fans expected these kind of results, especially during a rebuilding year.

Ryan O’Reilly Out Vs. Blues

According to Colorado Avalanche Coach Joe Sacco’s pregame, Ryan O’Reilly will not play tonight against the St. Louis Blues. O’Reilly is suffering from a bruised foot, which was injured Saturday night against the Edmonton Oilers. Good news here is that testing came back negative on breaks and further damage, so hopefully he’ll be back soon.

Ankle Ailment Hinders Hendricks

Hendricks Lays a Hit

Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Hendricks will probably be out tomorrow night against the nasty Nashville Predators as an unknown ankle injury kept him away from practice today. While the extent of the injury remains to be seen, let’s hope this is a short term item, as Hendricks provides grit, hard work, and a great attitude on the ice and in the locker room.

What a game at the Pepsi Center! Though the Avalanche are still missing their Captain, Adam Foote, they came out tonight ready to win. David Jones notched two goals and Paul Stastny had a goal and two assists. With goals from Scott Hannan and Cody McLeod, the Avalanche defeated the Philadelphia Flyer 5-4 in their only meeting this season.
