Olympic Rosters – Part 1 *Updated*

The International Ice Hockey Federation has half of this year’s Olympic Hockey team rosters available to peruse online today, with another five being announced tomorrow. The Team USA roster won’t be released until January 1st, during the Winter Classic game. Things aren’t looking good for team USA at this point but hey, we had the Miracle on Ice remember?

Ankle Ailment Hinders Hendricks

Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Hendricks will probably be out tomorrow night against the nasty Nashville Predators as an unknown ankle injury kept him away from practice today. While the extent of the injury remains to be seen, let’s hope this is a short term item, as Hendricks provides grit, hard work, and a great attitude on the ice and in the locker room.

Colorado Avalanche rookie defenseman Ryan Wilson left last night’s blowout of the lowly Edmonton Oilers after a questionable hit by Oiler Jean-Francois Jacques. What appeared to be a head injury has yet to be confirmed by any source close to the team or otherwise.

Svatos Back Out… That Was Quick

Terry Frei from the Denver Post corroborates, saying he has a chest contusion and is “day to day” according to Joe Sacco. Just when the the guy has a chance to potentially have major minutes, he’s off the ice again.

A quick hit today on the Colorado Avalanche website breaks some bad news for Avs fans. Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk has undergone an arthroscopic procedure on his troubled knee and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.
