Olympic Rosters – Part 1 *Updated*

The International Ice Hockey Federation has half of this year’s Olympic Hockey team rosters available to peruse online today, with another five being announced tomorrow. The Team USA roster won’t be released until January 1st, during the Winter Classic game. Things aren’t looking good for team USA at this point but hey, we had the Miracle on Ice remember?

Svatos Shopped?

Adrian Dater blogged recently about the possibility that Marek Svatos could be relocated before the trade deadline. While this is mostly speculative, I believe the sources and word is that Toronto, Ottawa (both obviously buyers right now) and perhaps even Boston are interested in the young winger.

Isles Apology

I want to take the time to apologize to the New York Islanders franchise for discrediting their talent this season. Often struggling over the years, even trading away Bill Guerin last season so he could win a cup, I constantly chalked the losing streak up to lack of talented players and a goal tender lineup that was far from desirable. While you’ve had your fair share of losing in the past, New York, you have proven me wrong recently.

Liles, Galiardi On the Road – Out Tonight!

The Colorado Avalanche announced yesterday that both John Michael Liles (shoulder) and T.J. Galiardi (ankle) will be hitting the road with the team. While neither will be on hand tonight, there is the possibility of a return for one or both of them during this three game stint.

Tucker Returns! *Updated*

Word on the webs is that Darcy Tucker will be returning to the lineup tomorrow night against Chicago, barring any unforeseen crazy circumstances. This bodes well for the team as they’ve been lacking the Tucker mojo since the concussion.
