Game Two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Colorado Avalanche and the San Jose Sharks. The Avs upset the Sharks in Game 1, outplaying the #1 Western Conference seed and winning 2-1. It was a night of upsets as the Montreal Canadiens also defeated #1 Eastern Conference seed, the Washington Capitals. So far these 2010 Playoffs have had more upsets than “what’s supposed to happen.” I like it that way. That’s real Playoff hockey.

Anderson Named NHL’s 2nd Star
It has been a little while since I’ve fawned over stellar Colorado Avalanche crease crusader Craig Anderson and since he’s been named the NHL’s 2nd Star of the Week for his insanely awesome play, I figured now would be the right time to do so.
Avs Stop East’s Best (Devils)

This post is later than it usually is, and I apologize. I was in attendance at both the Avalanche vs. Devils game as well as the Mammoth vs. Rush yesterday. It was a full day, but lots of fun. I think the best part about it was the Avalanche pulling themselves together, holding a lead, and winning over the top team in the Eastern Conference. It was a big win for the Burgundy Boys as yesterday’s win solidified their hold on top of the Northwest Division and 3rd place in the Western Conference.
Avalanche Down Sabres in SO

It was one hell of a night in Buffalo. The Avalanche held a lead up into the last half of the third period tonight, but never let up on their game much. The Sabres came back in the last ten to tie it up and take it to overtime. Then the shoot out. Holy gods, the shoot out.
Curse of the 3rds Smack Avs in the Face… Again

The Colorado Avalanche were out on the ice wearing their third jerseys against the New York Islanders. But most people weren’t focusing on the fact that the Avs have only won a single game in the nearly all blue thirds, they were focused on John Tavares and Matt Duchene. The 1st and 3rd draft picks respectively, everyone wondered how the two former roomies (during the draft) would play in their first meeting since the 2009 NHL Draft.
