Kings Inch Past Avs 4-3 in Overtime

Paul Stastny

After last night’s loss to the Anaheim Ducks, the Avalanche needed to come out of this game with something. Anything better than what they played last night. Coach Joe Sacco sat them down this morning in LA and told them to forget the game against the Ducks. Just do better tonight against the Kings. Played better they did, but it still wasn’t quite enough.

Ducks Soar Over Avs

I think the funny thing is that Kroenke Sports Entertainment is currently trying to sell Avalanche Playoff tickets. I also think it’s funny that if the Avs keep playing like they have in the last few games, those tickets will be worthless. Either the Burgundy Boys play clutch in these last series of games or they can kiss their playoff wishes goodbye.

3-2 Again! Really?

Peter Mueller

I’m as surprised as you are, folks. Another Avalanche vs. Flames game that ended with a score of 3-2. This time, however, it didn’t end in the Avs’ favor. Still, the Avs are up 4-1 in the 6 game series, so that’s a positive way to look at it, right? I almost didn’t want to write this post. It’s so much easier to do it when your team wins.

What Are the Odds?

Avalanche beat reporter Adrian Dater has just posted an article on his blog stating that the Avalanche have sent Ryan Stoa back down to their AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters. Seems that Kevin Porter played well enough to stay for the time being. But the interesting bit seemed a little matter of fact and that was the Avs’ ability to make it to the Playoffs.

Anderson, Turco Out Tonight

The Denver Post is reporting that both goalies, Craig Anderson and Marty Turco, will not be in net tonight as the Dallas Stars take on the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center. Marty Turco is out with flu-like symptoms, but not much has been said about Anderson’s ailment and whether or not he will be out for a while.

Ducks Steal Life From Avs

Andy comes up big

The Anaheim Ducks managed to steal the life right out of the Colorado Avalanche, notching 4 goals in the third period to mount an unbelievable comeback against a mostly hot Avs team. Craig Anderson played his heart out, it’s too bad the rest of the didn’t couldn’t do the same.

Avs v. Ducks Pregame

Andy_v_Miettinen

The Colorado Avalanche will take on the Anaheim (Mighty-not lately) Ducks tonight at the Pepsi Center in game two of a back-to-back trip. Hot off a decent win against the up and coming Minnesota Wild, the Avalanche look to extend their first place lead over the Calgary Flames to six points before the holiday break.
