Why Tyler Weiman Left

In case you hadn’t heard, Colorado Avalanche sensational “goalie-in-the-wings” Tyler Weiman signed with the Vancouver Canucks yesterday. While this may come as a surprise to many who imagined him the heir apparent to Colorado’s throne, that just didn’t seem like it would ever come to be.

The Chopping Block Part 2: Guardian(s)

Budaj

Here we go with Part 2 of The Chopping Block: Who Can We Afford to Let Go? It’s been a little hard compiling this list of people who I think we can safely trade. As it stands, I think the Avs are doing a great job, but they could be doing better. I’d really like to see an amazing playoff run by them this year, even though it’s slated as a rebuilding year. When the puck dropped in the first period, we didn’t see the same sluggish team the Avalanche were in the last two games. The pace had been picked up once again; it’s likely that Coach Joe Sacco lit a fire underneath the team’s collective behinds. You can tell the team is missing both Cody McLeod and Darcy Tucker, both out on injury.

Avs loss #2 – On That Note

Avs lose to Sharks on 10/30. On that note, it seems highly likely boss Sacco will start Budaj against former Avs half-tender (with better numbers I might add) Andrew Raycroft and his Vancouver Canucks.

Budaj H1N1 Update

Peter Budaj is set to join the team today in San Jose. Avs beat reporter Adrian Dater believes Budaj will get his first start against the division leading Sharks, more importantly giving Craig Anderson relief from his 13 start streak.
