Last night seemed like one of those games that was too good to be true. The Vancouver Cancucks had repeatedly stomped our Colorado Avalanche and it was time for some payback. Despite what people seem to think, this team is fighting for a playoff spot, and the window for making the post season is rapidly diminishing with each loss. Yet what happened last night was nothing short of soul crushing for this team.

Ruslan Salei Injured Again *Updated*

This just doesn’t seem to be the season for Ruslan Salei. He played a single game to start the season and injured his back, missing the majority of the the games and only managing to play in one before the Olympics. While in Vancouver Salei captained Team Belarus, who unfortunately drop all four of their games before returning home. He then returned to the Avalanche to play in 4 more games, and that may be it for the season.
Hejduk In Against Blues
Tonight the Colorado Avalanche will see the triumphant return of veteran superstar Milan “the Duke” Hejduk, who has been sidelined with knee surgery and more recently back pain. To be honest, his talent and vision on ice have been missed of late, with the Avs dropping 2 of their last 3 games.

One of those was a mercy goal empty netter given by Chris Stewart. It was a little strange to see, honestly.
Darren Haydar Goes To The Show + Game Notes *Updated*
Lake Erie Monsters points leader and oft touted badass of the AHL, Darren Haydar, has been called up by the Colorado Avalanche and could make his debut tonight. He would join current call ups Chris Durno and Justin Mercier.
Liles On The Block?

Seems like things are heating up regarding the plethora of defensemen the Colorado Avalanche have suddenly found themselves with. Seven were dressed the other night against Dallas, with John-Michael Liles moving up to fill in offensively for the absence of an injured Ryan Stoa. This scenario becomes even more muddied when the oft forgotten Ruslan Salei finally returns (someday – he is skating ok!). But what are the Avs to do?
Game Night Entertainment – What Do You Want?

A lot of talk has sprung up today about the Colorado Avalanche’s in game entertainment experience. So much so, in fact, that Denver Post beat writer Adrian Dater is composing a page two story about his ideas. That got us to thinking, what is it that you want when you go to a game at the Pepsi Center?
