The NHL has informed me that they’re running a voting competition for goal of the year, pitting 16 goals head to head and allowing the fans to vote the winner into the next round.

Adrian Dater at the Denver Post is reporting that Colorado Avalanche Captain Adam Foote has agreed to a one-year deal with the Avalanche. This likely means that Footer will captain a final season with the Avs, much like Joe Sakic did previously.
