Wojtek Wolski Traded To Phoenix *Updated*

Colorado Avalanche forward and fan scapegoat Wojtek Wolski has been traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for the lesser equivalent of himself in Peter Mueller and former Hobey Baker winner Kevin Porter.

Wolski takes his 17 goals, 30 assists and +5 with him to a Phoenix team that is fighting to shed last season terrible finish off with a playoff run this year.

The Avalanche get Peter Mueller and his shocking 4 goals, 13 assists and less than impressive -5 as well as Kevin Porter, who really hasn’t been tested lately but, according to the TSN Tradecentre, adds some excellent depth to the Avs. This is the real acquisition of the deal obviously.

TSN adds that Mueller hasn’t been playing to his potential (sound familiar) and doesn’t seem to have the drive needed to be great. Super.

Keeping young players in the family and adding to the depth of our youth in the future isn’t too surprising, but I personally would have gone in a different direction.

Wolski joins former Av Derek Morris as a deadline deal to Phoenix, which will be quite exciting to watch from here on out.

“It’s a tought thing to go through but I’m excited about it…”

“I loved Colorado and definitely got along well with all of the guys and the coach staff… there’s only so much money with the new CBA and cap.”

“I think right now I’m just going to look forward to the next twenty games…”

“I hope to kind of bring a consistency every single night and I hope to give that extra push to make the playoffs…”

“It will be tough playing against all of my old teammates and a few of my buddies… and I hope we win by as many goals as possible.”

Not a bad thing to say about the team.
