Svatos, Hejduk Unlikely

The Colorado Avalanche themselves have made it known that both Milan Hejduk and Marek Svatos are “doubtful” for tomorrow’s game against the Washington Capitals. Both are considered day-to-day with Hejduk owning a knee injury and Svatos nursing a groin issue.

This is no shocker as they both missed last night’s epic win against the Calagary Flames and the team did alright. In fact, Wolski and Stewie really came to play – it’s fair to say the entire team did.

Big surprise that Craig Anderson will get the nod against the Caps in what should be an exciting game. Also newsworthy is the fact that, with Semyon Varlamov out, our former goaltender Jose Theodore should be between the pipes. I’ve always liked Theo, but I’m ready to kick some more East Coast ass.

No news is good news for Kyle Cumiskey? Maybe, although the Avs report he hasn’t started skating, they expect Cumiskey to start some sort of workload in the near future.

Across the web today there were a few interesting articles. First, Mile High Hockey has a good read about Curtis Glencross and some pretty moronic things he had to say after the game last night. Funny the comments from this guy, as he had a relatively horrid night on the whole.

You can also head over to the Bleacher Report and check out an awesome article about how the Avalanche’s “Fire Has Been Snuffed Out” after their great start. The article goes on to talk about how the Burgundy Boys are struggling after such a great start and how Anderson isn’t doing that well. The best line is “they are not a top contender in the NHL.”

This such a timely article, being posted last night, as the Avalanche beat out the Calgary Flames to take the top spot in the Northwest Division, not to mention sitting 6th overall. This article may have been semi-relevant a few weeks ago but not the night after we won first place back…
