The Denver Post is reporting that both goalies, Craig Anderson and Marty Turco, will not be in net tonight as the Dallas Stars take on the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center. Marty Turco is out with flu-like symptoms, but not much has been said about Anderson’s ailment and whether or not he will be out for a while.
That means that Peter Budaj will be getting his seventh start of the season tonight. Starting across from Boods will be newly acquired backup Stars tender Alex Auld. This means that there might actually be a game tonight, as Turco has been really on and off this season, as the whole team has. Boods has been solid lately as well, so I’m looking forward to another strong performance as he proves that he deserves a few more starts.
The Dallas Stars currently sit in 8th place in the Western Conference, a mere 5 points behind the Avs (2 points behind the Calgary Flames). This game is important because we just tanked a game against the despicable Ducks and we need to keep both of these teams from crawling to the top of the standings. We all know who the better team is tonight, the real question is: will they show up (and if so, will they show up for a full 60 minutes?)?
