It’s here and it’s already making me long for the far off time of October. That’s right, the Colorado Avalanche now know all of their opponents and games for the 2010-11 NHL season.
With the aforementioned games against the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers, the Avs will take on the hated Detroit Red Wings as their third game of the season, on October 12th in Detroit.

Other noteworthy games are the Avalanche hosting the New York Rangers on November 19th, the Ottawa Senators on December 17th, the Montreal Canadiens on December 19th,the Buffalo Sabres on January 4th, the Boston Bruins on January 22nd, the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 16th, and the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 24th.
The Avs have 11 games in October, 13 in November, 14 in December, 12 in January, 13 in February, 13 in March, and 6 in April (not to mention the 16 wins to bring home the cup!) The Burgundy Boys also have 14 sets of back to back games, the same as last year (the Avs went 13/15).
Last season Colorado won 52% of their games, winning 10/24 in the Northwest Division and 31/64 in the Western Conference.

Also noteworthy is the NHL All-Star game on January 30th in Raleigh, NC.
What games are you looking forward to? How do you think they will fair? Who do you want to see at home?
