Potential NHL Rule Changes

NHL R & D Camp

I was reading a post at the temporary home of Put It On Ice today about the potential rule changes the NHL is trying out before the season starts and I decided that I wanted to share my contempt and consideration of the proposals put forward. The first two of four sessions are taking place today, and you can read more about what is being explored today over at Put It On Ice.

The Chicago Blackhawks stormed through the 2009-10 NHL postseason, taking no prisoners and rightly proclaiming Lord Stanley’s Cup as their trophy. The Colorado Avalanche, also known as the underdogs, have been giving the San Jose Sharks a run for their money. The Avs have had to transition their game to nearly 100% defense to shut down the Sharks top two lines and they’ve been doing a good job of it. Unfortunately tonight in the Shark Tank, they were never once called for too many men on the ice. The Sharks had 9 total on ice at all times, not including Evgeni Nabokov, and four of them were wearing black and white stripes.
